HEAD OF DATA & ANALYTICS

About the job

Join Natlink as our Head of Data - work with the leadership (and business teams) to create and own a data strategy tied directly to our core business goals. You will build our data capabilities, ship a modern platform, help the business become truly data informed, and turn our unique data into a moat. Start hands-on, build a small team, and set foundations for future AI initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Own the data strategy and roadmap; work with teams, especially very closely with the Product team, but also with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations to identify and prioritize the most valuable use cases across operational and product domains, and deliver them end to end via the data platform & BI tooling.
  • Improve the current state to build and own a scalable modern data platform (ingestion, modelling, orchestration, observability), including tool selection.
  • Led by the use cases, develop the single source of truth, including establishing ownership, governance and data quality practices.
  • Turn our years of unique product related data into a defensible moat; prepare foundations for AI, Gen AI and ML cases that increase business efficiency and improve the product and customer experience.
  • Guide the business in becoming data led; especially through literacy, culture and community building.
  • Lead compliance efforts with IT/Security to uphold GDPR/NIS2/Data Act and retention requirements.

Required Qualifications

·  5+ years working in Data & Analytics, with an excellent background in communicating with business stakeholders and leading projects to stand up data initiatives. A clear understanding of the key concepts of a data strategy is a must.

·  A preference towards action and to getting your hands dirty. With that, senior experience as either a data engineer, architect, or analyst is expected; as the first pure data hire, there will be a need to not only own but also execute the data strategy, with space for ~1 complimentary hire (analyst or engineer) to start the journey.

·   The background to select and own data platform tools. Ideally this looks like hands-on experience with a main cloud data stack (e.g., Snowflake/BigQuery/Redshift) and pipelines (Databricks/Airflow/Fivetran/etc.). In particular the candidates must be familiar with best practices in structuring and day-to-day running of such a platform.

·  Governance/compliance knowledge (GDPR, Data act, access control, retention)

·  Understanding of applying product thinking, UX practices and agile working to data products, analytics and internal automation projects.

Nice to have:

o  B2C SaaS and physical product experience

o  BigQuery, Power BI and Looker make up our current environment, so familiarity is a plus.

o  To have shipped ML/GenAI use cases.

This is an opportunity for a talented person to take responsibility of one of the most important business initiatives at Natlink and help us navigate through our scale-up journey.
