Performance Analyst

Position Overview:

As the Performance Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing the performance and efficiency of our passenger train services. Reporting to the Head of Performance and Planning, the Performance Analyst supports the Train Operations team by collecting, recording, and maintaining accurate data on train performance, punctuality, reliability, and incidents. This role will ensure timely reporting to management and relevant operational workstreams and contribute to improving operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Roles and Responsibility:

• Accurately extract and record daily train service performance data, including on-time departures, arrivals, and delays.
• Analyse all operational data from the current Passenger Train operation for short term and long-term data-driven decisions.
• Maintain performance logs and databases for train operations and ensure records are updated in real time.
• Assist in compiling daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports for management review.
• Work with the commercial and operational teams within the business to monitor and maintain performance control against the agreed business KPI regime.
• Support the planning and performance team in identifying trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.
• Ensure proper filing and documentation of performance-related records for compliance and audits.
• Liaise with other operational and maintenance workstreams to validate reported performance data.
• Provide administrative support to the Performance & Planning team, including scheduling and coordination of performance review meetings.
• Always uphold confidentiality and accuracy of operational records.

Desirable qualifications, skills and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analysis or Transport Operations
• Proven experience in performance analysis with a strong background in the railway industry or a related field.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and performance tracking software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements in the passenger railway industry.
