Desktop Administrator

The Desktop Administrator is responsible for providing technical support and maintaining desktop systems across an organization. The position involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing software and updates, and configuring system settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for desktop systems
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop software and updates
  • Configure system settings and perform system updates
  • Assist with system and data backups and recovery
  • Monitor and maintain system security
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of new technology initiatives
  • Document technical procedures and system configurations
  • Train end-users on hardware and software use

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with desktop operating systems including Windows and MacOS
  • Experience with desktop software applications including Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge of network and server technologies
  • Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users

Physical Demands

The Desktop Administrator may be required to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and navigate tight spaces to access equipment. The position also requires extended periods of sitting and standing.

Work Environment

The Desktop Administrator typically works in an office environment but may be required to travel to different locations to provide technical support. The position may require occasional evening or weekend work to perform system maintenance or upgrades.
