Our challenge

We are seeking a talented and creative Visual Graphic Designer to craft compelling visual content that enhances our banking brand and communicates complex financial information effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio showcasing innovative design solutions tailored for digital, print, and multimedia channels within the banking industry.



Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Halifax, NS is CAD $85k – CAD $95k/year & benefits (see below).



The Role

Responsibilities:

  • Design visually engaging graphics, infographics, banners, dashboards, and presentations aligned with branding guidelines and business goals.
  • Develop creative concepts for marketing campaigns, product launches, customer communications, and internal initiatives.
  • Create visual content for digital channels such as websites, social media, email campaigns, and mobile apps.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and communications teams to understand project requirements and deliver impactful designs.
  • Assist in designing user interfaces and visual assets for banking apps or portals.
  • Maintain consistency in branding, style, and tone across all visual materials.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, design software, and innovative visual storytelling techniques.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality output.
  • Incorporate feedback and refine designs to meet stakeholder expectations.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Multimedia Design, or related field.
  • Proven work experience (5+ years) as a graphic designer, preferably in banking, finance, or corporate communications.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of visual design projects, including infographics, digital content, branding, and UI/UX assets.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Figma, Sketch, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of branding, typography, color theory, and visual identity.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data and concepts into clear, visually appealing graphics.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.


Preferred, but not required:

  • Experience designing for banking or financial services industry.
  • Basic knowledge of web design, UI/UX principles, and animation.
  • Understanding of print production and digital publishing.
  • Knowledge of video editing and motion graphics.
