Specialist Network Planning Engineer
Contract Duration - 12 months (Renewal extension)
Location - Abu Dhabi
We are seeking a seasoned Specialist Network Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and optimizing network architectures to ensure scalability, reliability, and security in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Design and Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for network designs, configurations, and updates.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with architects and systems engineers to align network strategies with project objectives.
- Workstation Deployment: Implement secure and standardized workstation images, adhering to security and operational standards.
- Developer Support Tools: Integrate and manage tools such as Docker, Jenkins, and configuration management systems (Chef, Puppet, Ansible) in virtualized environments.
- Kubernetes Management: Set up and maintain production Kubernetes clusters, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Agile Workflows: Collaborate within an Agile/Scrum framework, using Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence) to track tasks and issues.
- VMware Administration: Install, configure, and manage VMware Cloud Foundation.
- Server Management: Administer Microsoft Windows Server and Linux environments (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky Linux), including automated patching, security monitoring, and compliance.
- Network Implementation: Design and maintain physical and virtual networks, including switches, routing, and firewalls.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience; or a graduate degree with 2+ years of experience.
Preferred Skills
- Expertise in networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and infrastructure components (firewalls, routers).
- Experience setting up high-availability compute clusters to ensure continuity between primary and backup systems.
- Strong knowledge of secure network infrastructure, including access control, firewall configurations, and segmentation.
- Proficiency in integrating Keycloak with Active Directory.
- Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools like Elastic Logstash, Nagios, or SolarWinds.
- Experience deploying and managing Docker, Jenkins, Chef/Puppet/Ansible, and Kubernetes clusters.
- Understanding of cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
