Data Scientist Intern (2 Positions) - Remote 🌍

Intellumia is seeking driven students or recent graduates for a 3 to 6-month, fully remote, paid full-time internship. This role is a hands-on opportunity to gain practical experience in data science and machine learning within a Deeptech AI company.

*Note on Eligibility: This is a temporary, educational position. Preference is given to candidates who are currently enrolled in a degree program or are recent graduates seeking professional development. No relocation is required for this role and it can be performed remotely from anywhere.

Interns will work on real-world data pipelines and ML workflows to support and enhance our digital twin and edge AI projects in a collaborative, fully remote environment.

Your Impact & Responsibilities

This internship is centered on supporting data-centric AI model development, from raw data to model deployment. You will work closely with researchers and engineers, gaining practical experience and mentorship.

What You Will Do:

• Data Pipeline Development: Collect, clean, preprocess, and transform diverse datasets from device and edge sources for AI model training.
• Data Analysis (EDA): Build efficient data pipelines and conduct Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to support both ML research and production needs.
• Model Building: Develop, train, test, and optimize machine learning models using Python and frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn.
• Deployment & MLOps: Implement monitoring, evaluation metrics, and automate workflows for data ingestion and model inference.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with researchers and engineers to integrate AI models into scalable, privacy-preserving systems.
• Documentation: Document processes and report insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills

• Education: Students or graduates passionate about data science and machine learning. Background in computer science, data science, AI, or related fields is preferred.
• Programming: Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with core ML/data science libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow).
• ML Fundamentals: Hands-on experience or coursework involving data cleaning, preprocessing, feature extraction, and EDA. Understanding of machine learning algorithms, including supervised and unsupervised methods.
• Work Style: Ability to work independently on data-driven problems and good communication skills for remote collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic knowledge or interest in AI privacy techniques and edge computing.
• Experience with cloud platforms, databases, or data versioning tools.
• Familiarity with containerization, MLOps pipelines, or workflow automation frameworks.
• Participation in data science competitions, personal projects, or open-source contributions.

Internship Details

• Duration: 3 to 6 months paid full-time.
• Stipend: To be agreed on during the interview process.
• Location: Fully remote (work from anywhere, all time zones accepted, no relocation required).
