About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Cyber Threat Operations Analyst to join our innovative team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in identifying and mitigating cyber threats that target our systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include monitoring security alerts, analyzing potential threats, and conducting investigations into incidents to uncover actionable intelligence. Our aim is to hire this position to work in either our Santa Barbara/Goleta, CA office or Arlington, VA office.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) tools to detect and analyze security incidents and anomalies.
- Conduct thorough investigations into potential threats, utilizing various tools and techniques to gather and analyze data.
- Analyze threat data from multiple sources to understand emerging threats and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
- Collaborate closely with the Cyber Threat Operations team to continually improve incident response processes and detection capabilities.
- Develop and maintain documentation for incident response procedures and threat analysis reporting.
- Assist in the execution of threat-hunting exercises to proactively identify vulnerabilities and weaknesses within the systems.
- Work with IT and engineering teams to ensure that security controls are effectively implemented and managed.
- Participate in training sessions and continuous education to stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and techniques.
- Other professional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on threat analysis and incident response.
- Technical degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Relevant specialized experience can substitute in lieu of degree.
- Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and threat intelligence platforms.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data and identify patterns or anomalies.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of current cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices.
- Experience with incident response processes and methodologies in a corporate environment.
- Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, OSCP or similar.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment while also demonstrating independence when required.

Our standard pay ranges are based on the role's function and level, benchmarked against similar growth-stage companies. Compensation may vary based on geographical location, as certain regions may have different cost-of-living factors. The final offer will also be influenced by the candidate's skills, responsibilities, and relevant experience.
Compensation Range
The Compensation Range for this role is $100,000 - $130,000 DOE.
