Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Front End React Engineer, based in the United Kingdom, with some work-from-home acceptable. The company office is located in Kings Cross. The Front End React Engineer's day-to-day tasks include developing user-facing features using React, building reusable components, and ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs. Responsibilities also include optimising applications for maximum speed and scalability, collaborating with other team members and stakeholders, and staying updated with emerging technologies.
You’ll be joining a growing engineering team building out our web-based platform across multiple sectors (education, justice, and beyond). Your focus will be on:
- Building high-quality React front ends that bring complex psychological and behavioural insights to life in a simple, engaging way.
- Collaborating with back-end engineers, designers, and product teams to deliver seamless, accessible, and responsive user interfaces.
- Working with Foresight, Soar, and Thrive — our suite of assessment, intervention, and personal growth tools.
- Integrating with LLM-based feedback tools, scoring engines, and real-time behavioural analytics.
- Pushing the boundaries of how AI and human coaching can work together to help every learner thrive.
- React + TypeScript
- Tailwind / Styled Components
- RESTful APIs and GraphQL
- Node.js + Express (back-end team)
- PostgreSQL + Firebase (back end)
- GitHub + Jira + Slack + Notion
- LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Phi 3.5 Vision) via API integrations
- 2+ years of experience building React front ends in production
- Strong knowledge of TypeScript, React hooks, component architecture, and state management (e.g., Redux, Zustand)
- An eye for detail and a passion for great UX/UI
- Ability to collaborate across teams, take ownership, and ship features end-to-end
- Bonus: experience working in EdTech, HealthTech, or mission-driven start-ups
- Bonus: familiarity with AI APIs, data visualisation, or complex form logic
