Our government client is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist on an initial contract until May 2026 w/ two 12-month extension options, based in Carseldine with 50% WFH. In this role, you will be embedded across ICT-enabled projects to provide security architecture and assurance, ensuring solutions align with organisational policies and recognised standards and frameworks.
This position will be paying $131.22 inclusive of superannuation per hour with standard working hours are 7 hours 15 minutes per day / 36 hours 15 minutes per week.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and technical advice on security best practice, controls, and industry standards across the project lifecycle.
- Review solution designs and technical documentation, producing security input to options papers, specifications, test plans, and implementation plans.
- Prepare risk assessments, define penetration testing scope, coordinate execution, and track remediation of findings.
- Translate complex business and technical requirements into clear, fit-for-purpose security recommendations.
- Facilitate and participate in security design sessions and workshops, engaging business and technical stakeholders.
- Support risk, issues, dependencies, reporting, and procurement activities to assure secure delivery and vendor alignment.
The successful candidate will have over five years’ experience in cyber security and architecture within large, complex environments. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills are essential, along with practical knowledge of ISO 27001, NIST CSF, PCI-DSS, and ASD ISM. Experience in IAM, PAM, authentication, secure email gateways, and security reviews is highly regarded.
