Role Description

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to join our IAM team at our Bucharest office. As a member of the IAM team, you will be given the freedom to make meaningful and measurable improvements impacting the Authentication and Authorization of our employees and services. This is a unique chance to shape our security infrastructure for the foreseeable future as you will be responsible for improving reliability and scalability by designing, building and operating our own next-generation Access Management solution.

As a Backend Engineer in our Identity & Access Management capability, you are responsible for building a scalable and reliable solution and to make sure that we are following coding and design best practices.

Whether we’ll be searching for ways to improve the performance of the current application or to build new features, your expertise from a software development point of view will be highly valued. You will work independently and will also be responsible for making key technical decisions within a team.

This role provides a hybrid way of working with an onsite presence of 2 days/week.

Key Job Responsibilities And Duties

As a Backend Software Engineer in our Identity & Access Management capability, you are responsible for the development, performance, and scaling of our Authentication & Authorization infrastructure, as well as internal systems related to the platform. You will work independently and will also be responsible for making technical decisions within a team.

Important aspects of the job include:

  • Rapidly developing next-generation scalable, flexible, and high-performance services for the IAM Capability area, including central Access Management solution and Authentication infrastructure.
  • Solving issues with the site and internal systems, prioritizing based on customer impact
  • Acting as an intermediary for problems, with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • The product is mainly developed in Java, using either Spring or Dropwizard as core frameworks

Role Qualifications And Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Preferably a degree in Mathematics or Software Engineering)
  • Minimum of 2 years software development experience using Java and Spring / Spring Boot
  • Experience with other languages like Perl, Go, Python, Scala, C++ etc is a plus
  • Previous experience with distributed systems and message brokers such as Apache Kafka
  • Experience with Elastic Stack (elasticsearch, kibana, logstash and beats)
  • Knowledge of cloud computing fundamentals and experience with AWS and/or GCP
  • Experience of working on products that impact a large customer base is an advantage
  • Experience with Algorithms and building smart, scalable code
