The Role
We’re looking for an AI Architect to lead the design and implementation of a scalable, data-driven architecture for a next-generation defense technology project developing autonomous interceptor drones.
In this role, you’ll define the end-to-end AI and data ecosystem—from data governance and simulation environments to MLOps and CI/CD pipelines—ensuring the entire system is ready for real-world, mission-critical deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and oversee the AI system architecture, connecting data collection, model training, and real-time deployment environments.
- Design and implement Data Lake and Data Governance frameworks to ensure data traceability, readiness, and quality.
- Develop the architecture for CI/CD and MLOps toolchains, including version control, build, deployment, and experiment tracking.
- Select and integrate tools and technologies for scalable ML model lifecycle management and automation.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to align cloud infrastructure strategies (IaaS, PaaS, Infrastructure-as-Code) for AI workloads.
- Bridge simulation environments with AI development, enabling continuous model validation and improvement.
- Ensure all AI and data solutions meet strict security, governance, and performance standards required for defense applications.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an AI Architect, ML Systems Architect, or in a senior AI infrastructure role.
- Strong understanding of ML systems design, data pipelines, and MLOps principles.
- Expertise in cloud-based AI environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure automation (Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker).
- Hands-on experience with data governance, data lakes, and ML lifecycle management tools (e.g., MLflow, DVC, Kubeflow).
- Background in AI model deployment and real-time inference systems.
- Experience in simulation-based AI development or aerospace/defense systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex AI concepts into actionable architectures.
Work Conditions
- Location: Bucharest (Hybrid – minimum one day per week in-office)
- Engagement: Full-time or contract-based
