Coolset is on a mission to build the all-in-one decarbonisation and supply chain integrity platform for forward thinking companies. By providing tools and infrastructure, we make it simple for businesses to measure, report, and reduce their climate impact.

We’re building carbon management software for the future with the goal to help accelerate the transition to net zero. Coolset was founded in 2021 and is supported by a remarkable group of early-stage investors & advisors.

🤔 About the role

As a front-end engineer, you will play a significant role in the development of the Coolset platform.

You will be working on building new features, projects, and integrations for the platform. This is a great opportunity to learn about and work with the latest technology while having a positive impact on the environment.

This role requires someone with an entrepreneurial stance towards problem-solving, flexibility in action, and a hands-on mentality while taking accountability for your projects. Strong communication skills and a creative-oriented mindset for solving problems are a must.

We use React with native and custom hooks to build our web apps, as well as MaterialUI for base and custom components, with custom logic and styling.

🦁 Your profile

• You have 4+ years experience working in a software engineer role, preferably at a high-growth startup
• You have a good knowledge and understanding of concepts like security, performance, accessibility, and Typescript.
• You love working with React, and use React best practices to produce world-class software (or have experience with other frameworks but are willing and able to learn React)
• UX comes natural to you. You’re always striving to create the best UX for your users
• You know how to have constructive conversations with backend, design, product, and other departments in the company to optimise our apps.
• You have a DevOps mentality - not all solutions should be solved with code!
• You find the right balance between quality and output. You launch fast and iterate and don't get stuck in processes
• You're already based in The Netherlands, preferably in or around Amsterdam

➕ Nice to haves

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with backend development using Python/Django

👀 Our recruitment process

• 30-min video screen - Over Zoom, we get to know you and you get to know us. You get to ask any questions you might have
• Coding challenge - You’ll receive an assignment to work on, use this to show off your skills. No need to over-engineer it - just see what you can get done in a couple of hours
• 60-min case interview - Over Zoom, you'll present the results of your assignment. In this phase, we'll evaluate your critical thinking skills, asking you to take us through the considerations you made while working on the assignment
• 120-min in-office working session - We'll brainstorm together on how to build a new feature. This will be a technical refinement session where we explore a roadmap feature and decide on the best technical approach
• ☎️ If successful: A job offer within 48 hours to join Coolset
