This is a senior PHP (Laravel) Developer role.

An established marketing agency located in the west end of Toronto (Etobicoke) is looking to expand by adding an individual whose primary responsibilities will include building PHP applications, fixing defects, collaborating with the team as well as working independently, writing unit tests, and occasionally providing off-hours emergency support for critical production issues. The candidate will be responsible for taking a leadership role in the entire development lifecycle (concept to delivery and support).

This is a hybrid position (2 days per week onsite)

Overview of Responsibilities:

• Develop full-stack and back-end solutions involving services and APIs.
• Write technical documentation, requirements, process workflows and user stories.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements gathering, coding, testing, debugging, and deployment.
• Working with testing frameworks to create comprehensive automated tests.
• Strong in project management
• Demonstrate that you stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, standards, and frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Advanced knowledge of front-end languages including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript.
• Proficient in back-end languages including PHP.
• Knowledge of database systems and SQL.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks.

Qualifications & Proficiencies:

• Application development in PHP, Laravel framework or equivalent for system scalability, security, performance, and reliability.
• Cloud technologies such as AWS: RedShift, Lambda, Glue, S3, EC2 Auto Scaling, Load Balancers.
• Designing and maintaining databases to support business applications: Postgres/MySQL, RedShift, SnowFlake.
• Data transformation ETL tools .
• Creating efficient/optimizing existing SQL queries.
• Source control: Git, Gitflow, GitLab
• Creation of RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of Docker, Ansible, Terraform and Crimson
• Deploy Confluence and JIRA

Not Required Additional Experience:

• Experience with other highly scalable, low latency big data systems
• Knowledge of Microservices
• Container Orchestration with Docker - Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Fargate
• Elasticsearch
• SaltStack or other orchestration/configuration management tools
• Certificate management: CertBot, Let's Encrypt
