What’s the role?
As the UI Engineer you will be supporting strategic digital transformation initiatives including the migration of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS). The role will focus on leading the frontend technical strategy, supporting headless content delivery, and ensuring scalable, secure, and accessible user interfaces across key Westpac digital properties
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead frontend architecture for enterprise web apps integrated with AEM Cloud and headless content delivery
- Build scalable UI components using React, Next.js, and modern JavaScript frameworks
- Integrate seamlessly with AEM Content Fragments and GraphQL APIs
- Optimise performance using Adobe Edge Delivery Services, CDN strategies, and caching
- Guide frontend teams, enforce coding standards, and support CI/CD integration
- Ensure responsive, accessible interfaces (WCAG 2.1 AA), optimized for SEO and Core Web Vital
- Hands on experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
- Skilled in integrating AEM Headless using Content Fragments and GraphQL APIs
- Knowledge of Adobe Edge Delivery Services and performance optimization strategies
- Strong understanding of responsive design, component architecture, and cross-browser testing
- Proficient with CI/CD tools, Git, Webpack/Vite, and enterprise build systems
