Our Role
We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Sydney. The Senior Software Engineer is a key member of the product development team, responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software products that meet customer needs. This role involves full-stack development, including both front-end and back-end components, with a strong emphasis on quality, security, and customer satisfaction.
This role reports to the Development Manager and does not have people management responsibilities.
A Day In Your Role
- Design and build scalable, secure, performant web applications and services.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to understand user needs and deliver results.
- Support roadmap and delivery planning by making pragmatic decisions and balancing customer value, business impact, and technical quality.
- Own operational excellence through monitoring, system observability, error management, documentation, and user analytics.
- Contribute to team and company culture through thought leadership, improving team practices, and involvement in new initiatives.
- Support fellow engineers through mentorship, feedback, code reviews, and improvement of internal tools and processes.
- Proactively learn new technologies, techniques and methods that may benefit the team, customers, or product and share these with others in the business.
- Demonstrated commercial experience in building SaaS and contemporary web applications.
- Hands-on experience in Advanced Java development such as Spring Boot.
- Experience with frontend frameworks, particularly ReactJS.
- Good understanding of databases and RESTful web services.
- Solid experience with automated testing methodologies
- Exposure to contemporary cloud services, such as infrastructure (AWS), container orchestration, IaC, CI/CD, tooling, and monitoring.
