neXcruit is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join one of our clients in Canberra. This role offers an exciting opportunity to design, develop, and deliver secure, scalable applications across multiple technology stacks, while driving modern DevOps and integration practices. You’ll work in a collaborative Agile environment, contributing to critical systems that require high standards of performance, reliability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications across multiple stacks including Java (Spring MVC), .NET (Entity Framework), and integration platforms such as Mulesoft and ESB.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and integration points that enable secure, scalable communication between systems.
• Implement and enhance DevOps CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure Pipelines and Jenkins.
• Analyse and optimise SQL queries and data models for performance and data integrity.
• Write unit tests and contribute to test automation using tools such as Karate and Gatling.
• Create and maintain clear, detailed technical and compliance documentation.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver quality outcomes.
• Demonstrate initiative by asking clarifying questions and driving problem-solving efforts in complex environments.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Proven experience developing and maintaining applications across multiple stacks (Java, .NET, and integration platforms).
• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and integration solutions.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure Pipelines or Jenkins.
• Proficiency in SQL and data modelling, with a focus on optimisation and data integrity.
• Solid understanding of testing and automation frameworks (e.g. Karate, Gatling).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.

Security Clearance:

You must hold, or be able to obtain, a Baseline Security Clearance prior to commencement.
