Our charter is to define the next generation of cloud-native infrastructure on Azure. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work on container technologies and orchestration using Kubernetes, and develop development and operations (DevOps) tools that make it easier for people to build, deploy, and scale their software on the Azure cloud.
In this role, you will collaborate with experts across multiple domains to deliver innovative solutions that simplify complex workflows and provide high-performance, reliable services for global customers. Responsibilities
- Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
- Advance the capabilities of Kubernetes and auxiliary components on Azure.
- Improve quality of service for Microsoft Azure Kubernetes Service.
- Accelerate development velocity for all engineers.
- Balance pragmatism with vision; deliver continuous improvements to the team’s process and codebase.
- Build automation to prevent and/or remediate service problems from becoming production incidents.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Golang, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 5+ years experience in commercial software development, including building, shipping, and operating reliable distributed solutions.
- Experience with container technologies and orchestration using Kubernetes.
- 1+ year(s) experience designing and implementing scalable systems, ensuring reliability and performance in production environments.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
- OR related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Golang, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Golang, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- 1+ year(s) experience working with Linux, engaging in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices to ensure reliability and operational excellence, and using Artificial Intelligence (AI) coding tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar technologies to enhance development productivity.
