We’re looking for a strategic and collaborative Senior UX Designer to help redefine our member experience across digital channels. You’ll be at the forefront of a greenfield transformation, leading the design of our new mobile app and member portal.
This is a first-of-its-kind role within Teachers Health Group. You’ll take ownership of the full UX/UI process - from research and wireframes through to high-fidelity prototypes and delivery. Partnering closely with cross-functional teams, your work will shape intuitive, inclusive, and member-centric digital experiences.
Who are we?
Teachers Health was created by teachers for teachers over 70 years ago and is the only health fund dedicated to the education community. As a not-for-profit health fund, we exist for our members, covering the lives of over 400,000 teachers, education staff, and their families.
What You’ll Do
- Lead UX/UI design for our digital self-service channels (app and portal)
- Collaborate with product, tech, marketing and operations teams to deliver best-in-class member experiences
- Conduct research, usability testing and interviews to understand member needs, behaviours and pain points
- Translate insights into wireframes, prototypes, user flows and high-fidelity UI using tools like Figma
- Identify and resolve friction points and accessibility barriers to drive better usability and adoption
- Champion WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards across all design work
- Analyse behavioural data and feedback to guide ongoing design improvements
- Communicate design rationale and research insights to stakeholders across all levels
- Help embed human-centred design practices across the organisation
- 7+ years of UX design experience, including 2+ years in a senior or lead role
- A strong portfolio with case studies demonstrating your ability to improve real-world digital products
- Expertise in human-centred and service design principles
- Experience conducting user research, synthesising insights, and applying them to your design process
- Strong UI design skills with hands-on experience in Figma
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills - able to influence and align with non-design stakeholders
- A collaborative, curious mindset and a passion for solving real problems through design
- Experience in a product-led organisation or during digital transformation (ideal but not essential)
