My client is a Crypto company which is looking for a Managing Director Back Office (m/f/d), based in Frankfurt or ready to regularly commute. A direct professional background in the Crypto sector is NOT a requirement; however, my client expects a strong interest in digital innovation and a readiness to combine traditional financial processes with forward-looking technologies.
Job Description
- Overall responsibility for all back office functions: credit risk assessment, compliance, risk controlling, legal, and operations.
- Management of credit decision processes and risk assessments related to digital assets.
- Close collaboration with the front office in product development concerning digital assets while maintaining independence.
- Analysis and co-development of regulatory requirements related to digital financial instruments (e.g., MiCAR, BaFin guidelines, AML).
- Establishment and further development of control and governance structures related to digital assets.
- Leadership of cross-functional teams with a focus on efficiency, regulatory security, and digitalization.
- Representation of the back office function in internal committees as well as with supervisory authorities (BaFin, ECB).
- Promotion of a sustainable risk culture and continuous improvement of operational excellence within the second line of defence.
- Completed university degree in business administration, law, finance, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in the financial sector.
- Experience in a leadership role within back office or risk management.
- Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements in Germany (MaRisk, KWG, AML, BaFin), as well as European regulation (e.g. MiFID).
- Strong interest in blockchain technology and digital assets, previous work experience in this field is a nice to have.
- Experience with new technologies and willingness to further develop traditional processes.
- Convincing leadership and communication skills with a confident demeanour towards internal and external stakeholders.
- Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken.
