Senior Network Engineer - Frankfurt

They offer colocation, connectivity, and hybrid-cloud solutions across multiple European regions, operating fully cloud- and carrier-neutral facilities powered by 100% green energy. As part of their continued growth, they’re looking for a senior network engineer based in Frankfurt with strong data-center experience to design, implement, and maintain complex network environments that support mission-critical operations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operational performance of network and IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and resilience
• Lead and execute customer implementations with a focus on efficiency, quality, and reliability
• Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for network and network security incidents
• Manage change, incident, and problem processes to maintain service continuity
• Maintain and enhance internal systems and documentation across all network domains
• Lead and deliver IT and network security projects, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
• Plan and manage network capacity, lifecycle upgrades, and infrastructure modernization
• Ensure adherence to security and compliance requirements across internal and external audits
• Mentor, guide, and manage a small technical team to foster collaboration, accountability, and innovation
• Develop and maintain documentation platforms for network and system landscapes

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years’ experience in complex network environments within data centers, telecoms, or cloud infrastructure
• Strong technical knowledge of routing protocols (MPLS, BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, RIP) and overlay technologies (VX-LAN, EVPN)
• Hands-on experience with enterprise and service provider (ISP) networking equipment
• Solid understanding of IT security principles, penetration testing, and vulnerability management
• Proven experience leading or managing teams within network operations or infrastructure projects
• Excellent communication skills in both German and English
