Main Responsabilities and Duties
- Develop and apply AI/ML methods and bioinformatics pipelines for the analysis and interpretation of genomic and multi-omics datasets.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of models in emerging and impactful genomic domains.
- Collaborate with researchers, data scientists, and domain experts to optimize scientific discovery and clinical translation processes.
- Benchmark and evaluate existing workflows, models, and tools, and propose improvements.
- Prepare reports, visualizations, and presentations to communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- PhD (or Master’s with equivalent experience) in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of post-degree experience in bioinformatics or data science roles.
- Strong expertise in machine learning and predictive modeling.
- Proven experience in genomic data analysis, variant interpretation, and/or multi-omics data integration.
- Proficiency in Python, common bioinformatics tools and UNIX.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English.
Nice to Have
- Experience with benchmarking and evaluation methodologies.
- Familiarity with deep learning and/or large language models.
- Hands-on experience with workflow orchestration systems (e.g., Nextflow, Snakemake).
- Experience with cloud computing or big data frameworks.
- A track record of publications in relevant areas.
