The development company Vision Group Services UAB is a 100% daughter of the Vision Group AG which is located in Dietlikon, Switzerland. At Vision Group AG, we are shaping the future of e-commerce for optical products. As one of Europe’s leading online retailers for contact lenses and eyewear, we combine cutting-edge technology with a commitment to quality and customer experience.
The international team members are located in Belgium, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Switzerland. The development team consists of twelve people in our office in the center of Kaunas, supported by remote developers from other European countries.
We are expanding our development team in the Kaunas office and looking for a PHP Software Engineer (Shopware) who thrives in an agile, high-performance environment.
You work independently and have extensive experience in building and maintaining Shopware platforms. We value clean code, continuous improvement, and an agile development approach. But we also enjoy a game of table football and animated discussions during our weekly team lunch.
Your Role
You will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising our e-commerce platforms - particularly those built on Shopware - and supporting our transition toward a microservices architecture. You’ll work closely with our cross-functional teams to implement scalable solutions and continuously improve system performance and reliability.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality PHP code for our Shopware applications.
- Implement clean, documented, testable, and scalable code.
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product managers in an agile setup.
- Integrate APIs and third-party systems (ERP, CRM, payment gateways, etc.).
- Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions and contribute to our continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in development processes and tooling.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and security but also troubleshoot and debug issues in a timely manner.
What we expect
- 5+ years of experience in PHP software development, with significant experience in a modern framework (Symfony, etc.).
- Strong experience with Shopware 6 and Symfony frameworks.
- Experience with Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs, asynchronous communication, and message queues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details.
- Good communication skills, autonomy and the ability to work in cross functional teams.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum/Kanban environment.
- Understanding and experience with microservices architecture is a plus.
- Fluent in Lithuanian and English; German is a plus.
