Senior Machine Learning Engineer for Data Products

Do you wish to work in a newly established data product team together with the rest of the Danica organization?

Danica is part of the Danske Bank group and is providing services within pension and health insurances. As part of Forward 28 we are investing even more into our data landscape. In April, we established the Data Products squad with our first 4 data engineers, and the first data pipelines and infrastructure are now deployed on AWS. Next progression is therefore to make sure that we extract every bit of value from our data, and we are therefore looking for an ML engineer to work closely with our actuary (insurance mathematics) department.

The squad is newly formed and there are no existing systems, so your expertise will be invaluable in collaboratively designing the machine learning architecture. You will work with the rest of Danica on creating new machine learning models based on the current initiatives that the organization is prioritizing. The current focus is on the health product, where we want to utilize machine learning and large language models to accurately forecast costs and effectively price our products. The central platform team is scheduled to introduce Databricks in 2026, which we are adopting.

You will:

• Work closely with subject matter experts to maximize the value of the ML models
• Prepare data and train machine learnings model
• Help define best practices for machine learning in Danica
• Work agile in a squad split evenly between Lithuania and Denmark
• Deploy machine learning models using AWS and Databricks technologies
  
  

About you:

• 4+ years working within the machine learning area. Some of these years might come from the broader data area
• Experiences training models using ML tools like Databricks and AWS SageMaker, Databricks or similar tooling on Azure, GCP
• Demonstrated proficiency in adhering to robust software development methodologies and deploying models in production environments (MLOps)
• Ability to understand where the data comes from (Our Data Platform is using EMR, Athena, DBT, Iceberg, Lake Formation, Confluent Kafka, MWAA, IaC/Terraform, Azure DevOps but here we are also moving to Databricks)
• Upper-Intermediate English language skills
  
  

We offer:

Monthly salary range from 4560 EUR to 6840 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
