About The Role
The Momentum
We are looking for a talented Machine learning engineer to join Promptly. This role is a blend of applied research and production engineering, designed for those who love to bridge the gap between novel ideas and real-world impact. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of our models, requiring you to train production systems, develop robust monitoring, and create novel evaluation methodologies. We are looking for an engineer with a strong foundation in statistical learning who can not only build models but also deeply understand their behavior, ensuring they are reliable, interpretable, and continuously improving.

What You'll Work On
- Train, fine-tune, and deploy production models, going beyond experimentation to deliver systems with a focus on deep learning and transformer architectures for NLP.
- Develop novel evaluation and monitoring systems, moving beyond standard accuracy metrics to systematically understand model quality and behavior in real-time.
- Bridge research and production by translating cutting-edge techniques in areas like information retrieval, semantic search, and agent-based systems into scalable services.
- Build robust infrastructure by engineering and automating our MLOps pipelines to ensure our workflows are efficient and reliable.
- Possess a strong foundation in statistical learning, data science principles, and classical machine learning.
- Have proven experience building and deploying machine learning systems in a production environment using Python.
- Are naturally curious about debugging complex systems and thinking deeply about model failure modes and interpretability.
- Can balance research exploration with engineering rigor, holding your work to high standards of quality and reproducibility.
- Are a self-starter, comfortable taking ownership of a project and driving it forward with autonomy.
- Have a strong interest or experience in applying ML to challenging domains, particularly within Natural Language Processing (NLP).
- Experience building and deploying models in a cloud environment (GCP/AWS).
- Deep expertise in fine-tuning and evaluating models.
- A proven track record of implementing MLOps best practices in a production setting.
