DevOps Engineer (EU) — Barcelona
(not engaging agencies or remote hiring intermediaries!)
Company Description

Traverse Health is a provider of Real-World Evidence (RWE) solutions operating across emerging markets. We build digital products that connect healthcare organizations with pharma and biotech—turning real-world data into actionable insights that improve patient outcomes. Our ecosystem serves pharma, biotech, med-tech, CROs, providers, payers, healthtech startups, and drug-discovery teams.

We value pragmatic innovation, tight collaboration, and purpose-driven engineering. Every pipeline and deployment helps transform clinical data into evidence that matters.

Role Description

We’re hiring a DevOps Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team (Barcelona or remote within EU/LATAM time zones). You’ll design secure, scalable infrastructure, automate CI/CD, and keep our multi-cloud environments reliable across development, staging, and production.

This is a full-time role; on-site, hybrid, or fully remote (EU/LATAM) are all possible.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure with Terraform and Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE).
  • Build and optimize CI/CD with GitLab CI (Jenkins/GitHub Actions experience welcome).
  • Operate microservices across AWS, GCP, and Azure; manage networking, IAM, observability, and cost controls.
  • Manage container registries (HarborGitLabGCR) and enforce container security best practices.
  • Define/enforce Kubernetes policies (e.g., Kyverno) for governance, security, and resource efficiency.
  • Maintain IPsec tunnels and network security (e.g., strongSwan) across sites and VPCs.
  • Implement monitoring/alerting with Prometheus/Grafana; troubleshoot performance and reliability issues.
  • Apply IaC standards, code reviews, and release hygiene; contribute to runbooks and SRE practices.
  • Report progress, risks, and blockers clearly; help improve delivery via agile ceremonies.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s in CS/Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 3–5+ years hands-on DevOps/SRE in distributed, fast-paced teams.
  • Strong Kubernetes ops experience (EKS/AKS/GKE) and containerized workloads.
  • Proficiency with Terraform and IaC patterns.
  • Solid AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch); multi-cloud experience (GCPAzure) is a plus.
  • Linux administration, networking fundamentals, and Helm for release automation.
  • Experience with Vault (or similar) for secrets; observability with Prometheus/Grafana.
  • Excellent English (written/spoken). Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.
  • Mindset: automate everything; bias for reliability, security, and scalability.
Nice to Have
  • Healthcare data/security exposure (GDPR/HIPAA), ISO 27001 practices.
  • GitOps (Argo CD/Flux), service meshes, cost-optimization in multi-cloud.
  • Experience with data platforms (Postgres, Kafka, Spark) and secure data pipelines.
Why Join Us
  • Mission-driven work improving healthcare decisions with real-world data.
  • Flexible setup (Barcelona hub or remote EU/LATAM).
  • Diverse, collaborative team and strong growth path (DevOps → Senior/Lead).
  • Competitive compensation; budget for conferences and learning.
How to Apply

Email [email protected] with your CV and a short note (5–6 sentences) describing a DevOps project you led (problem, approach, stack, outcome).
