Job Description
Role Summary
The associate director forecast and commercial insights will be responsible for all forecasting activities in International for existing products and potential new launches.
This role will also support commercial insights activities from a market research perspective.
Key Responsibilities
- Forecasting (60%):
- Lead the development and management of robust, data-driven short- and long-term revenue forecasts for in-line and pipeline products (develop and enhance forecast models)
- Drive discussions with country GMs and Sales Leads on their territory forecast and consolidate ex-US revenue forecast
- Ensure forecasting models incorporate key market dynamics, epidemiology, competitive landscape, pricing/reimbursement assumptions, and lifecycle events.
- Closely collaborate with US forecast counterpart to ensure sharing and alignment on key assumptions, and work closely with the other members of the EU analytics team to ensure market trends are well reflected in the forecast
- Develop ad hoc forecasts and business cases for business development activities ex-US
- Geographies covered include: Europe and partner markets
- Commercial insights (35%):
- Drive market researches activities (e.g. ATUs, chart audits, ad hoc projects) to measure and report on KPIs on a regular basis to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Identify external data sources to support prescribers identification
- Partner with Marketing, Medical, Sales & Market Access teams to develop and maintain deep commercial insights through market research.
- Ensure regular, effective communication with priority markets to identify challenges and opportunities and help them with market insights from external sources
- Closely collaborate with US market research counterpart to ensure alignment, seek efficiencies and key learnings.
- Support analytics team with new products launch tracking (5%)
- Develop and delivers presentations to senior leadership
- Demonstrate commercial operations & forecast thought leadership and represent Deciphera at key meetings when appropriate.
- Ensure successful agency/vendor partnerships
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications
- PhD with 5+ years of experience or MBA or BA with at least 10 years of experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry or in the management consulting space.
- Proficiency in using Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated experience in data analytics and forecast modeling.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in the work environment. Manages competing demands. Changes approach or method to best fit the situation. Able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events with maturity and professionalism.

- Ability and willingness to work effectively and seamlessly at multiple “altitudes” within the organization. Maintains a “no job is too big or too small” attitude necessary to succeed in a startup environment.
- Must be a true team player – authentic, humble, able to build a positive team spirit and lead through the ups and downs of drug development, puts success of team above own interests and support everyone’s efforts to grow and develop.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead in a matrix organization and have the managerial courage to make and stand by difficult decisions, has critical mindset.
- Used to work and influence cross-functional teams, including interfacing with key internal and external stakeholders and with scientific and commercial teams
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize data and deliver a clear overview of commercial strategy, opportunity and risks for the International Team.
- Knowledge and experience in oncology and rare disease will be considered a plus
- German and French language will be considered as a plus
- Knowledge of AI tools for market understanding will be considered as a plus
