Platform Software Engineer (Backend)

Location: Amstelveen, Netherlands (hybrid/remote)

Worktype: Hybrid (2 days per week onsite, rest remote)

What you will be doing

As a software engineer you serve as a pivotal contributor in building and maintaining a private cloud platform which supports technology like RedHat OpenShift. With your skills and experience you participate in a team of enthusiastic developers who are building and maintaining a robust cloud platform that aligns with organizational goals and supports customer requirements on a scale.

• Excellent skills with back-end engineering particularly in Go, but transferable skills will be taken into account (e.g. Rust, C#, Kotlin)
• Expertise with building operable services; preferably by embedding technologies such as OpenTelemetry into the entire SDLC
• Experience with deploying applications using GitOps
• Experience with automated testing, test-driven development, behavior-driven development etc.
• Experience building microservice architecture
• Experience with platform orchestration / automation is a massive plus
• Experience setting up and maintaining build pipelines, preferably in GitHub Actions
• Knowledge of on-prem virtualized networks is a massive plus
• First-hand experience with agile ways of working and building greenfield software
• Experience with Kubernetes / OpenShift (the latter is a plus)
