Job Purpose

As an Admin Coordinator you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Manager relating to the function of medical services for a smooth and efficient day to day running of the department.

In This Role You Will

  • Liaise and co-ordinate with the HR Shared Services team with regards to onboarding and Medical Benefits eligibility for employees and their dependant, where applicable.
  • Respond and communicate effectively to queries from various internal and external stakeholders with regards to the current medical ebenfits policy. The information requires recording and proper dissemination of information to provide an acceptable service level in line with the published terms and conditions and contractual operating procedures.
  • Administer online databases in line with published terms and respective data privacy regulations.
  • Investigate, co-ordinate and escalate where required, any complaints received from internal or external stakeholders on medical service delivery issues and medical benefit related issues.
  • Produce and issue standard letters relating to member insurance and service provider correspondence.
  • Provide consistent and accurate customer service to eligible members over email or telephone, managing queries within the agreed turnaround times using published resources to maintain quality.
  • Prior approval for medical treatment. Review all medical reports, referrals and treatment plans to check if covered as per the policy terms and conditions.
  • Responsible for the provision of accurate approval authorisations and guidance to our contracted medical providers.
  • Communicate with members and providers in relation to pre-approval status and terms.
  • Manage emergency telephone approvals and responsible for confirming cover based on individual’s medical history, medical reports and treatment plans.

Qualification

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) preferably in Nursing, Pharmacy or equivalent medical related field.
  • Experience in medical or medical safety administration
  • 4+ years relevant work experience in a medical insurance field.
  • Clinical medical experience.
  • Computer literate, Proficiency in the MS Office Suite of Software. (Excel/Word/Power Point)
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English
