Datacenter Network Engineer/Sr. Engineer/Architect

Location: Norway/Oslo/Hybrid

Security clearance: Norway Security clearance at Confidential level (Konfidensielt) is requested

Skills:

Solid expertise in datacenter and network infrastructure architecture for cloud solutions, including datacenter fabric, WAN network infrastructure, Firewalls, load balancing (both internally in DC and between DCs), IP planning etc.

Solid expertise in security and regulatory requirements, risk management and compliance

Solid expertise in high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) network design for cloud infrastructure

Solid experience with SDN including micro segmentation and overlay networking

Experience with intrusion detection and protection systems (IDS/IPS) and cloud security

Knowledge of and experience with cloud platform technologies

Experience with and understanding of the Norwegian Security Act

Proven ability to lead complex technical projects, ensuring secure and high-quality implementation and aligning with security, sovereignty, and regulatory requirements.

Technical leadership experience

Security clearance at Confidential level (Konfidensielt) is requested

Good to Have:

Familiarity with European cloud regulations and the Norwegian Security Act (Sikkerhetsloven)

Collaborative and results-oriented in a cross-functional environment

Strong communication skills to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Ability to see the big picture and balance technical aspects towards the total ambition of the initiative

Ability to balance entrepreneurial approach with structure and solution orientated approach.

Key responsibilities:

Overall responsibility for the end-to-end networking infrastructure for the sovereign cloud platform solution, including eg load balancers, Firewalls etc.

Overall responsibility for architecture and design of the network solution and develop this with selected partners

Identify and recommend technical choices supporting the Sovereign Cloud ambition

Identify and recommend relevant security systems such as eg Firewalls and IDS/IPS (intrusion detection and protection systems)

Ensuring the network solution supports the products and services we will provide in our Sovereign Cloud

Ensuring the network solution is scalable, efficient and easy to operate and manage

Support the Cloud Platform Lead in his tasks in preparing the Sovereign Cloud platform

Be the main technical contact towards our SI partner providing the networking solutions throughout MVP and after launch

Support the team in implementation and testing of the solutions from planning to launch, ensuring security, scalability, and seamless integration with existing infrastructure

Proactively address technical risks, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements

Produce and manage technical documentation of the networking solution, in cooperation with the system integrator partner
