Our client, a rapidly growing construction materials firm in Surrey, BC, is expanding its Division 8/10 (Doors & Hardware) operations and is seeking an Associate Project Manager to support delivery of door, frame, and hardware packages and grow into a Project Manager role within 6–12 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day delivery of doors, frames, and hardware packages with a focus on quality, schedule, and cost.
- Assist with takeoffs, submittals, hardware schedules, shop drawings, and closeout documentation.
- Coordinate POs, deliveries, site access, installations, and deficiency tracking.
- Maintain project trackers, RFI logs, change orders, and documentation control.
- Communicate proactively with vendors, site teams, and general contractors to resolve issues.
- Interpret specifications, door schedules, and architectural drawings.
- Learn and apply relevant standards and codes (e.g., NFPA 80, IBC, accessibility requirements).
- Progress to independently managing small-to-mid-sized projects.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- 1–3 years in construction project coordination, estimating, or related role; Division 8/10 experience preferred.
- Familiarity with door and hardware systems; hands-on experience with AVAware or similar software is a strong asset.
- Proficiency with Excel and common PM tools (SharePoint, Procore, Autodesk, Outlook).
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and documentation skills.
- Clear written and verbal communicator with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to read drawings/specifications and handle RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Bonus: exposure to cladding/building envelope systems.
