About the role:
We're looking for highly motivated newly graduated students or early in career Software Engineers looking to start their careers on Collective's Product Engineering team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone 0-2 years out of school who wants to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You'll work on financial products that directly impact self-employed individuals and small businesses across the U.S.
As a key contributor on our product engineering team, you'll work closely with experienced engineers, product managers, and designers to build and scale core features of our platform. If you're excited to ship fast, learn constantly, and have real product impact from day one, we would be excited to meet you.
What you'll do:
- Build and maintain core product features that are used by real customers every day
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to build a best-in-class product experience
- Contribute across the stack (Python/Django, React/TypeScript)
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and planning sessions
- Learn from senior engineers and level up quickly
- Help shape our team culture, engineering practices, and technical foundation as we scale
- A recent graduate (0–2 years of experience) with a degree in Computer Engineering or a related field
- Excited about startups, ownership, and building quickly with a small team
- You've used a programming language deeply enough to build real projects, complete coursework, or contribute to a team, and you're eager to learn more.
- Familiar with modern web technologies, either through internships or academic projects
- Based in the Bay Area and are committed to a hybrid schedule (3 days/week onsite in SF)
- Curious, collaborative, and eager to grow
- Internship experience at high-growth consumer tech companies
- Exposure to Django

Compensation Range: $100,000-$120,000 annual base salary
The salary ranges for the roles are posted for your convenience and review. Please understand that if an offer is presented, the offer compensation package will be based on the relevant position related skills a candidate demonstrates during our formal interview process.
