Meta Care, Inc. is seeking a full-time Python/Django Developer & Data Engineer to work alongside our fractional Architect during a transition period. You will help maintain and improve our data pipelines, support our core products (SAMI and MetaHub), and ensure stable ingestion and automation of healthcare data.

You’ll be mentored directly by an experienced architect who will guide you through our systems, with the goal of becoming the primary technical owner for ongoing development and maintenance. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 - 3 days in the office in Clearwater, FL with the balance remote. Pay range: $38-$55/hour, based on experience level.

Responsibilities

  • Support, maintain, and enhance Django-based applications (SAMI and MetaHub)
  • Assist in developing and maintaining data ingestion pipelines for claims, eligibility, and RX data using Python (Pandas, SQLAlchemy)
  • Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases (Azure Database for PostgreSQL – Flexible Server)
  • Oversee and maintain Azure resources, including:
    • Azure Virtual Machines (VMs)
    • Azure Database as a Service (DBaaS)
    • Azure Blob Storage and SFTP access management
  • Participate in automating data ingestion alerts and error handling dashboards
  • Collaborate with business users to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Document processes and ensure smooth handoff of technical knowledge

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience in Python and Django development
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases (MySQL, SQL Server)
  • Experience working with pandas or similar data transformation libraries
  • Familiarity with Azure cloud infrastructure — specifically managing VM servers, storage, and database services
  • Basic understanding of SFTP file transfer processes and automation
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical topics to non-technical colleagues
  • Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team with limited resources and structure

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with healthcare data (claims, eligibility, RX files)
  • Experience with data pipeline monitoring and alert systems
  • Exposure to frontend technologies (HTML, Bootstrap, basic JavaScript)
  • Understanding of HIPAA or healthcare data security best practices
