Job Title: Backend Developer – Golang & Kubernetes

Location: Sab Diego, CA

Type: Long-term Contract

Client : XCOM Labs

About the Role

We are seeking a Backend Developer with strong hands-on experience in Golang and Kubernetes to join our client’s engineering team. This role sits at the intersection of Application Development and Customer Support, helping ensure seamless rollout and troubleshooting of a Kubernetes-based application that powers large-scale systems in production. You’ll work closely with both development and support teams—troubleshooting deployments, optimizing configurations using Helm charts, and feeding valuable insights back into the development cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy, troubleshoot, and optimize Golang-based applications running on bare-metal Kubernetes clusters.
  • Use Helm charts to manage and adjust application deployments.
  • Collaborate with the Application Development and Support teams to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Automate installation and deployment tasks using Ansible.
  • Support the Customer Service team during rollout of new Kubernetes-based applications.
  • Provide feedback to engineering teams on deployment experiences and suggest improvements.
  • Participate in debugging sessions and root-cause analysis for application issues.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes for deploying and running backend applications (not cluster administration).
  • Solid programming experience in Golang.
  • Familiarity with Helm charts, YAML configurations, and Kubernetes manifests.
  • Good understanding of application deployment pipelines and CI/CD concepts.
  • Experience working with Ansible for infrastructure automation.
  • Experience with Next.js (React) or Express.js is helpful but not required.

Nice-to-Have

  • Familiarity with 5G Core or telecom environments (3GPP) — a plus but not essential.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and observability in Kubernetes environments.
