About Us

world.ly helps people remember the world beautifully. In an age where photos are lost in endless camera rolls, world.ly turns travel moments into meaningful keepsakes. With a simple flow—capture a photo, leave your thoughts, and share with others—our AI handles the rest, transforming moments into mementos: digital postcards that organize themselves into trips, timelines, and collections.

We’re building the next generation of travel documentation—where technology amplifies emotion and storytelling feels effortless. Founded in New York, world.ly brings together design, AI, and human curiosity to build a product that inspires people to look back and see their lives as stories worth keeping.

About The Role

This is a day-one role on a product that blends design, storytelling, and AI.

We believe design is not decoration; it’s how people feel what we make. Every single piece that comes out of our hands — from an icon to a full screen — should be something we’re proud of years later. Something quiet, honest, and beautiful.

As our first UI/UX designer, you’ll shape how world.ly looks and feels. You’ll be deeply involved in product thinking, from early ideas to the final visual language. You’ll work closely with the founder, make decisions together, and see your work live fast. We move quickly, but we don’t compromise on taste.

What you'll do

  • Co-define and prototype the core user flows — from user research and insight discussions to the final design execution.
  • Translate raw ideas and messy sketches into polished, emotionally resonant interfaces.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to ship MVPs quickly, learn from feedback, and iterate fast.
  • Help build a visual and interaction language that feels human, elegant, and timeless.
  • Think beyond screens — how does a memory feel? How does a trip form naturally from moments?

We’d love to hear from you if you have

  • 4–7 years of experience designing UX and UI for consumer-facing products.
  • End-to-end ownership skills — you can independently take a problem from insight to delivery, and produce high-quality results.
  • Deep empathy and intuition for users, with the ability to turn understanding into clear and thoughtful UI/UX solutions.
  • The ability to think abstractly yet design concretely — balancing sharp thinking with refined aesthetics and real-world value.
  • A love for clear, direct, and intuitive interfaces — the kind that need no explanation.
  • A results-driven mindset, low ego, and openness to feedback, new ideas, and fresh perspectives.
  • A personal standard of excellence — you treat every piece of work as something to craft, not just complete.
  • Strong collaboration skills — you enjoy working with product, engineering, and marketing to find the best answers together.
  • Proficiency in the design and prototyping tools you need to get the job done, including any AI tools that help you move faster or better.

Nice to have

  • You’ve built or designed something from scratch, ideally with a small team.
  • You naturally choose the open and uncertain path — driven by curiosity and imagination.
  • You love travel, and you document the world around you — through photos, writing, or creative projects, shared or not.
  • You enjoy exploring new apps and ideas, and love to try using AI creatively to solve problems.
