We’re seeking a Software Engineer (Data) to build and maintain backend data services, APIs, and pipelines that drive analytics applications across our sports betting platform. You’ll work on real-time data products, pipelines, and APIs that support frontend teams and downstream consumers. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on implementation, data quality, and performance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs (REST/GraphQL) for analytics and risk data.
- Build and support real-time and batch data pipelines using event processing frameworks (e.g., Flink, Spark Streaming) and messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Contribute to aggregation, caching, and query optimization for analytical workloads.
- Ensure data quality, service reliability, and performance through monitoring and alerting.
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and business teams to deliver self-service data products.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives.
Technical & Functional Skills
- Proficient in at least one backend language (Java, C#, C++, Go, Python, etc.).
- Skilled in writing efficient SQL for analytics and data processing.
- Experienced in building and maintaining APIs (REST/GraphQL).
