Network Engineer – 6-Month Contract (View to Extend) | Melbourne| 6 x Roles!!

Our client is seeking an experienced IP Network Engineers to join their team on a 6-month contract with a view to extend. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting and optimising network infrastructure across a large-scale enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and Manage Network Devices: Handle routers, switches, firewalls, and other network components.
• Maintain Network Security: Implement and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and network access control (NAC).
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve network issues to maintain high performance and stability.
• Documentation & Standardisation: Maintain clear documentation of configurations, policies, and procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams and stakeholders to align on network requirements and delivery.

Specific Tasks

• IP Address Management: Audit and maintain IP address allocations to ensure efficient utilisation.
• Network Performance Monitoring: Identify and resolve bottlenecks while optimising network configurations.
• Upgrades & Patching: Conduct routine maintenance, updates, and upgrades to ensure system reliability.
• Implement Security Measures: Strengthen network resilience and safeguard infrastructure from unauthorised access.

Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of IP protocols and core networking technologies.
• Proven experience in network design and architecture for enterprise environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Working knowledge of network security principles and practices.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional IT teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Telecommunications, or Engineering.
• Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA or CCNP highly regarded.
