Role:
Network Consultant Engineer
Focus:
Service Provider Customers (Core, Distribution and Access Layers)
Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers and other Cisco stakeholders for the successful implementation of projects.
- Deliver Planning, Design, Implementation & Optimization Services to Cisco´s major accounts.
- Support Service Provider customers on implementation of new platforms/solutions, migrations, optimizations/redesigns, software strategy and risk mitigation on complex network infrastructure.
- Elaborate documentation in a professional manner: design documents, solution documents, method of procedures, ATPs.
- Apply or support the application of changes during maintenance windows avoiding network failures.
- Evaluate and mitigate risks for successful implementation of solutions or changes.
- Test designs and changes recommended to customer in lab environment.
- Provide consultative, proactive and/or reactive support
- Give knowledge transfers to customer about technologies or solutions.
- Collaborate with other engineers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify and facilitate new business growth opportunities.

It is critical to support the customer to reach their business goals through the implementation and adoption of Cisco Solutions accompanied by expert guidance and best in class customer experience.
Our team is motivated to learn new things every day, foster innovation and specialize across the breadth of Cisco SP product portfolio. It is composed of a large group of engineers in the America´s region.
This team works closely with sales and engineering to define project scopes, set expectations, and plan timelines, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with customer business requirements. The consolidation of the CX delivery team enhances Ciscos ability to deliver flexible, scalable, and secure solutions that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
Minimum Requirements and Desired Skills:
- Must have deep technical expertise with routing and switching on Service Provider Cisco technologies to be able to design and implement high availability networks and failover scenarios.
- Must have good operational and architectural knowledge of Cisco ASR9k, Cisco 8000, ASR900, Catalyst, Metro Ethernet Switches: configuration changes, software upgrades, physical installation of modules.
- Strong knowledge on Service Provider protocols (L2&L3) and features: OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, MPLS-TE, QoS, Multicast, L2VPN, L3VPN, EVPN/VXLAN, Load Balancing, Spanning-Tree, Dot1q, LACP.
- Preferably have some programmable skills and automation concepts.
- Strong customer interaction, troubleshooting, and consulting skills.
- Must be proficient in customer facing discussions.
- Must be able to understand customer network to recommend improvements from the architecture and configuration side.
- Have certification in Cisco technologies (CCNP, CCIE preferred).
- Must have experience working with SP networks, at least 3 years.
- Must work well under pressure
- Must know how to work remotely and be able to deliver in a timely manner fulfilling project commitments, results oriented.
- Must be customer focus and good team player
- Auto motivated to learn.
- Must be fluent in Spanish and English
- Have a Bachelors in a technical field (Networking/IT preferred) or equivalent
- Basic Programming/Scripting Skill (preferably Python)
- Knowledge of Network programmability (Python, Netconf, Yang)
- Understanding of Software Defined Networking (SDN) & Network Function Virtualization (NFV).
- Preferred exposure to Cisco Catalyst platforms (Cat3k, Cat6k and/or Cat9k) and Nexus platforms (N3k, N5k, N7k, N9k)
- Preferably a CCNP/CCIE certification in Service Provider or R&S
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and formal presentation)
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability and experience debugging and troubleshooting complex network problems
