This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Head of Engineering in Europe.

As the Head of Engineering, you will lead and scale a dynamic, multi-disciplinary engineering organization, driving innovation and excellence across backend and frontend teams. You will play a pivotal role in shaping long-term technical strategy, embedding AI-first practices, and ensuring that engineering execution aligns with strategic business objectives. This role combines hands-on technical insight with strong leadership, as you mentor teams, refine processes, and foster a high-performance culture. You will collaborate closely with Product, Data, and Tech leadership to influence platform architecture, operational frameworks, and team development. Your impact will extend across the organization, shaping both the engineering culture and the delivery of cutting-edge, AI-powered digital solutions.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and scale engineering teams of 30+ engineers, including Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers
  • Define and drive engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with company goals, product roadmaps, and business priorities
  • Champion AI-first practices, integrating automation and AI into product architecture and engineering workflows
  • Collaborate with Product, Data, and technical leadership to co-develop long-term platform vision and technical strategy
  • Establish engineering processes, best practices, and frameworks to ensure high code quality, operational excellence, and velocity
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across all levels of the engineering organization
  • Identify and address scaling challenges—technical, organizational, and process-related—as the platform and teams grow
  • Oversee strategic hiring, organizational design, talent development, budgeting, and resource planning
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve platform reliability, scalability, and security


Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including at least 5 years in senior engineering leadership roles
  • Proven experience leading organizations of 30+ engineers across multiple teams and domains
  • Strong technical foundation in modern software architecture, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems
  • Demonstrated ability to scale teams, enhance processes, and align engineering efforts with business outcomes
  • Experience embedding AI and machine learning into products, platforms, or engineering operations
  • Deep knowledge of agile methodologies, DevOps practices, and quality assurance at scale
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams
  • Experience in AdTech or SaaS is a strong plus
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills in high-stakes, complex environments
  • Passion for building high-performing teams, engineering culture, and AI-powered innovation
