At Spellfusion, we strive to create captivating indie games by merging the tried and trusted with the innovative and new. We're looking for a writer based in Germany, and ideally enrolled as a university or college student to support our latest project, Nether Spirits.
The internship will last three months, or longer if it's a mandatory internship.
Nether Spirits is a rogue-like deckbuilder set in a mystical realm known as The Nether, a place where fractured souls fight tooth and nail to reach their goal: a pillar of blue light said to make them whole again.
If we can secure funding for production next year, we are considering hiring the intern as a 'mini-job' employee (8 hrs / week) after the internship ends.
Tasks
- Bring the mystical world of Nether Spirits to life
- Create short interactive dialogues in the style of Hades
- Create emotion evoking descriptions of objects and characters
- Write scene descriptions that create a mysterious, immersive atmosphere
Requirements
- You live in Germany, or are willing to move to Germany for the duration of the internship
- You're currently enrolled for a bachelor's or master's degree or in other ways qualify for an voluntary internship
- You're skilled in creating compelling lore, stories and interactive dialogues (please tell us about your strengths & weaknesses — what do you feel most comfortable drawing? Where do you have a lot or a lack of experience?)
- You're able to work in a team and incorporate feedback into your design process
- You're fluent in either German or English
Bonus if:
- You need a mandatory internship for your degree
- You have experience in Unity
- You have experience in dialogue editors like Twine, etc.
Benefits
- Flexible hours
- Home office
- Friendly & open team
Please include some sample work with your application - just so we can get a sense of your style.
We're looking forward to your application and will get back to you as soon as possible!
