Gorgonzola hosts Navigations Air Systems (NAS) domain. The activity of NAS domain: avionics, navigation and radar systems for civil air traffic and technologies supporting the activities of civilian and military pilots, ATC controllers and technicians of several airlines, air traffic control agencies and Air Force around the world. Italy is the Group’s Competence center for the design, production and delivery of Navigation Aids products and Competence Centre for the delivery of non-Radar Surveillance Products.
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and talented intern with a strong academic background in engineering, mathematics, or related scientific disciplines to join our AI-focused team. This internship will provide hands-on experience working on projects that optimize and automate internal processes using advanced AI techniques. Your contributions could also pave the way for new product and feature developments within Thales.
What You Will Do
- Analyze specific AI use cases in close collaboration with our team and familiarize yourself with the state-of-the-art technologies.
- Innovate by elaborating and designing significant improvements to existing AI models, processes, or products.
- Document your analysis thoroughly and develop comprehensive development plans for team review and approval.
- Once approved, engage in the development phase, working hands-on directly with equipment and software.
- Present your findings and progress clearly and professionally in English.
- Strong academic background in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or related scientific fields.
- Proficient working within an English-based environment.
- Excellent organizational, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Programming experience in Python and C++ along with related frameworks.
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras.
- Experience with UI development using frameworks and technologies like Qt, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and REST APIs.
- Eagerness to learn, innovate, and contribute actively in a team setting.
