We are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join our Financial Crime Compliance Models, Solutions & Data Analytics unit in Warsaw.

You will work with colleagues across the Nordics, Lithuania, and Poland.

As a Principal Data Scientist, you will be a key driver in developing and implementing sophisticated data-driven models that help protect our customers and society from Financial Crime.

Your role

In this role you will not just analyse data; you will design, build, and deploy complex machine learning models and AI-driven solutions, having direct impact on our ability to detect and prevent financial crime within the Bank.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the end-to-end development of advanced machine learning and AI models, from conceptualisation and data exploration to deployment and performance monitoring.
  • Architecting and building scalable data pipelines and analytical workflows using Python, SQL, and big data technologies.
  • Mentoring other data scientists and analysts within the team, promoting a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders, including investigators, risk managers, and IT specialists, to understand complex problems and translate them into data-driven solutions.
  • Driving the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to keep our analytical capabilities up to date, as well as use your expertise to review and challenge models and analytical solutions from other units.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on data science within the financial crime domain, including delivery of presentations to senior, non-technical audiences on these topics.

We are seeking a qualified candidate with a proven experience in delivering impactful data science projects. Given the critical nature of our work, a strong sense of integrity, confidentiality, and importance of teamwork are paramount.

We expect you to possess the following skills and abilities:

  • +5 years in a Data Scientist role, with a strong portfolio of completed machine learning/AI projects.
  • Full proficiency in Python and its data science ecosystem (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
  • Deep expertise in SQL for complex data manipulation, aggregation, and querying across large datasets.
  • Extensive experience in developing and deploying Machine Learning and AI models in a production environment.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Advantageous Skills:

  • Significant experience with big data technologies, particularly PySpark.
  • Practical experience with cloud data platforms, especially AWS.
  • Familiarity with the Databricks platform.
