Key Purpose of the Role:
To provide expert knowledge of Adventure HQ’s product range, ensuring customers receive accurate information, guidance, and support in selecting the right products for their adventure and outdoor needs. The Product Expert acts as a brand ambassador, driving sales through exceptional product knowledge, customer engagement, and training support to the team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Product Knowledge & Expertise
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of all Adventure HQ product categories (e.g., camping, hiking, cycling, fitness, water sports, etc.).
- Stay updated on new product arrivals, technical features, and brand stories.
- Provide detailed product demonstrations and comparisons to assist customers in making informed purchase decisions.
- Liaise with suppliers and brand representatives to gain insights on new launches and updates.
2. Sales & Customer Experience
- Engage proactively with customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable products.
- Deliver an exceptional in-store experience by combining technical expertise with excellent service.
- Achieve individual and store sales targets through consultative selling and product recommendations.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, or returns with professionalism and efficiency.
3. Merchandising & Inventory
- Ensure the assigned product category is well-displayed, priced, and merchandised according to brand and store guidelines.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate with the Store Manager or Merchandising team for replenishments.
- Support in conducting regular stock audits and reporting discrepancies.
4. Team Support & Training
- Assist in training store staff on product features, usage, and selling techniques.
- Share feedback with management on customer preferences, product performance, and potential assortment gaps.
- Collaborate with the marketing and visual merchandising teams during product launches or promotions.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in retail sales or product specialization (preferably in outdoor/sports categories).
- Strong understanding of Adventure HQ’s product lines or similar adventure/sports retail brands.
- Fluent in English or other languages is an advantage.
