Introduction
At My Monthly, we’re building a modern, empathetic cycle-tracking app that helps individuals and couples better understand their health and support each other. Our goal is to create intuitive, supportive, and engaging experiences beyond tracking, making connecting daily life, wellness, and relationships easier.
As a UX Design Intern, you’ll work closely with our designers and product team on real design challenges. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across the product design lifecycle from wireframes and prototypes to developer handoff.
Your Role and Responsibilities
- Contribute to the redesign of major app tabs, ensuring a clean, intuitive user experience.
- Support developer handoff by preparing annotated, organized Figma files (starting with Android, then expanding across platforms).
- Explore and design flows for new features like birth control logging MVP, and Duo user mode.
- Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes in Figma.
- Assist with design QA by reviewing builds and identifying inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with the team to incorporate research insights, refine designs, and polish details.
Preferred Education
- Bachelor’s degree in progress or recently completed in UX Design, Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), Interaction Design, Product Design, or a related field.
Required Technical & Professional Expertise
- Portfolio demonstrating UI/UX design skills, design thinking, and visual craft.
- Proficiency in Figma (prototyping, components, layouts).
- Understanding of user-centered design principles and responsive design.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Eagerness to learn and openness to feedback.
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Experience
- Familiarity with Android design guidelines (Material Design) and differences from iOS.
- Interest in health, wellness, and relational apps.
- Attention to detail and interest in high-fidelity visual design.
Additional Information
This internship is unpaid, with the potential for a part-time opportunity following successful completion.
