Why you will love this role:
As a satellite production systems technician, you play a vital role in ensuring that ICEYE satellite testing meets aerospace quality standards. You will perform automated verification procedures for functional, payload and Bus tests to validate performance at the subsystem and system levels. You will conduct operational simulations (MockOps) to verify operational readiness. You will also oversee final activities, ensure configuration control and support launch campaigns.
What you will do in this role:
- Manage schedule priorities and execute work tasks to meet production timelines.
- Independently performs a variety of tasks according to detailed work instructions and established procedures.
- Operate mechanical and electrical ground support equipment to ensure smooth test operations.
- Proactive communication with team members and supervisors regarding any challenges or obstacles.
- Troubleshoots basic technical issues and implements corrective actions under guidance.
- Assists in training and mentoring junior technicians.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation of work performed, including documenting results in Jira and creating NCRs when necessary.
- Assisting in the management of activities related to satellite launch campaigns.
- Actively contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within the team, focusing on procedures, processes, tools, and 6S.
- Work closely with other production teams and ensure clear communication to ensure that deadlines for the satellite building phase and technical specifications are met.
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Relevant university degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Space studies, Applied Physics or similar, or equivalent experience in a related role.
- 2 years of hands-on experience with setting up and running tests and experiments.
- Excellent communication skills, with particular attention to detail regarding procedures, preparation and execution.
- Experience using lab equipment, such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Able to work proficiently in a linux environment.
- Ability to perform tests on satellite systems using Python or Shell scripts for routine tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, assembly instructions, and schematics.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken, to ensure clear communication in a cross-functional environment.
- Experience using Atlassian Cloud (Jira, Confluence)
- Ability to improve/and or write tests scripts in Python
- Space background
- Knowledge about satellite systems
- Skills in electronics, mechanics and embedded systems
