Northe platform empowers both drivers and fleet managers with seamless EV charging and mobility solutions, from an intuitive mobile app to powerful web-based fleet management tools. As we grow, we’re looking for a Senior Software Developer with Node.js to join our team in Sweden.

The role

This position is backend-focused, but experience with React is valuable as you’ll occasionally collaborate on our frontend applications and ensure smooth integration between backend services and user interfaces.

You’ll be working on scalable APIs, integrations with EV charging networks, payment systems, and data flows that power Northe’s core platform. As part of a cross-functional team, you’ll help us deliver reliable, high-performing services to support thousands of charging points and users across the region.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js, Express, and TypeScript.
• Work with PostgreSQL for reliable, scalable data storage and querying.
• Build integrations with external EV charging infrastructure providers and payment systems.
• Ensure system scalability, performance, and resilience for real-time charging data and transactions.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers on API contracts and occasionally contribute to React-based applications.
• Write high-quality, testable code and contribute to our CI/CD and DevOps workflows.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
• Deploy and manage infrastructure on AWS using Terraform.
• Troubleshoot, monitor, and improve production systems in collaboration with the DevOps team.

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of professional experience in backend development with Node.js (TypeScript preferred).
• Solid understanding of Express, RESTful API design, and database technologies (PostgreSQL).
• Hands-on experience with AWS (e.g., ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS) and Terraform.
• Familiarity with frontend development in React (not your main focus, but enough to collaborate effectively).
• Strong knowledge of modern development practices (CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
• Good communication skills in English.

Please note: Only candidates with current residency in Sweden will be considered for this role.

Nice to Have

• Experience in the EV charging, mobility, or energy sector.
• Knowledge of event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS).
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with payment processing or IoT integrations.
