Senior Android Engineer

A leading consultancy is standing up a native mobile engineering squad to support key transformation initiatives for a major financial services client. As a Senior Android Engineer, you'll play a central role in designing and delivering robust Android solutions within a modern Agile environment.

• Contract length: Initial 6-12 months with the view to extend.
• Office location: Melbourne CBD.
• Work arrangement: Hybrid.
• Contract rate: $900 - $1,000 p/d inclusive of super.

Responsibilities:

• Develop high-quality, scalable, and performant solutions adhering to best practices.
• Actively participate in all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC), collaborating closely with cross-functional agile teams.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by promoting best practices, automated testing, and mentoring junior engineers to enhance their skills and productivity.

Experience required:

• Expert in Kotlin with strong experience in Android app development using Clean Architecture (MVP, MVVM).
• Proficient in modern Android frameworks including Jetpack Compose, Dagger, HILT, Flow, LiveData, RxJava, and Coroutines.
• Skilled in DevOps and Agile delivery, with hands-on experience using Gradle, Bitrise, and CI/CD best practices.
• Strong track record in production support, issue resolution, and delivering solutions under pressure.
• Experienced in process improvement and collaboration using tools like GitHub, Figma, Jira, and Confluence.
