A Fixed Wireless Satellite Engineer with strong Radio Access Network (RAN) skills designs, deploys, and troubleshoots wireless systems, focusing on both satellite and fixed wireless technologies while applying RAN principles like interference analysis, frequency coordination, and network optimization. Key responsibilities include conducting site surveys, configuring equipment, optimizing network performance, and performing field operations with a deep understanding of telecommunications principles.
Responsibilities
• Design & Deployment: Assist with the design and deployment of complex fixed wireless networks, equipment choices.
• Configuration & Optimization: Configure and optimize wireless devices (routers, access points) to ensure optimal performance and coverage.
• Integrations: Working in solution design, integration and deployment of new feature release, software upgrade and
• Troubleshooting & Testing: Conduct testing and troubleshooting of wireless systems, identifying and resolving issues to ensure optimal performance.
• RAN Expertise: Apply strong RAN skills in radio propagation modeling, interference analysis, and frequency coordination for both satellite and fixed wireless solutions.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and engineering processes and develop Method of Procedures
• Collaboration: Collaborate with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams on system design and project enhancements.
Key Skills & Qualifications
• Wireless Network Engineering: 10 years+ Deep understanding of wireless network design, implementation, and maintenance of 4G/5G/LTE networks on Ericsson equipment/technologies
• RAN Expertise: Strong knowledge of Radio Access Network (RAN) principles, including Mobile Packet Core network
• Cloud based technologies: Knowledge and skills of Cloud native solutions for Radio and packet core network.
• Fixed Wireless Technologies: Experience with fixed wireless infrastructure, including site setup and equipment configuration.
• Telecommunications Fundamentals: Strong foundation in general telecommunications principles and practices.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues within telecommunications networks.
• Documentation Skills: Proficiency in documenting engineering processes and network configurations working on Confluence.
• Agile mindset: Working in Agile development mindset and good experience with Jira
• Telecom networks certifications: CCNA, CCNP etc is highly desirable
