Android Developer

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Android Developer with 8–10 years of experience to design, develop, and maintain robust Android applications. This role involves leading technical initiatives, mentoring junior team members, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality mobile solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Application Development:
• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance Android applications.
• Build scalable and secure mobile solutions.
• Code Quality & Architecture:
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using Kotlin and Java.
• Manage technical debt and set the technical direction for projects.
• Technical Leadership:
• Mentor and guide junior developers.
• Lead feature development and own the delivery of major components.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define and deliver new features.
• Performance & Optimization:
• Identify and fix bugs and performance issues.
• Optimize the application for speed, scalability, and efficiency.
• Testing & Quality Assurance:
• Write unit tests and conduct thorough application testing.
• Collaborate with QA teams to ensure smooth deployments.
• Innovation:
• Continuously explore, evaluate, and implement new technologies and development best practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong proficiency in Android development with Android Studio, Android SDK, Kotlin, and Java.
• Experience with testing frameworks like Espresso and JUnit.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile development methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with APIs, including third-party and Google APIs (e.g., Maps, Firebase).
• Understanding of mobile security principles, UI/UX best practices, and analytics platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills in English and Dutch.
