For one of our globally leading tech clients we are urgently looking for an experienced Senior Android Developer for a long contract based in Amsterdam, NL

Role Description:

• The Senior Android Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality Android applications. The role involves writing and testing scalable code using Kotlin and Java, ensuring optimal performance, and leading technical initiatives. The developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and contribute to improving development efficiency through continuous innovation and technology adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

• Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable Android applications.
• Code Quality & Architecture: Write clean, efficient, and organized code; manage technical debt and ensure code quality.
• Technical Leadership: Guide and mentor junior developers; lead feature development and own major components’ delivery.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to define, design, and ship new features.
• Performance & Optimization: Identify and fix bugs; troubleshoot performance issues and optimize applications for speed and resource efficiency.
• Testing & QA: Write unit tests, conduct app-level tests, and collaborate with QA teams to ensure reliable deployments.
• Innovation: Continuously explore and implement new technologies to enhance productivity and platform capabilities.

Essential Skills:

• Strong proficiency in Android development (Android SDK, Android Studio).
• Expertise in Kotlin and Java programming languages.
• Experience with mobile testing frameworks (Espresso, JUnit).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile methodologies.
• Experience with APIs (third-party and Google APIs such as Maps, Firebase).
• Understanding of mobile security, UI/UX principles, and data analytics platforms.
