UX Intern in IDEXX Animana Veterinary Practice Management System

As a UX Intern, you’ll join the Product & Design team for the IDEXX Animana Veterinary Practice Management System, supporting research, design improvements, and user experience optimization across our cloud-based platform used by veterinary practices across Europe and UK.

Throughout your internship, you’ll gain hands-on experience in user-centered design, prototyping, and learning how customer insights are translated into intuitive, impactful product experiences.

You’ll work on a variety of UX design and research projects, including User Research and Insights, Wireframing and Prototyping, Design System and UI Consistency, Usability Testing and Evaluation, Cross-functional Collaboration.

What You Will Need To Succeed

We are looking for a student with an academic focus in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field.

  • Basic understanding of UX principles and design processes
  • Familiarity with Figma or similar design tools
  • Curiosity about how design improves complex digital workflows
  • Attention to detail and ability to organize information clearly
  • Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn from feedback
  • Good communication skills and comfort collaborating across teams

Some Practical Aspects

  • You are available to start in January 2026 and can work with us for 5-6 months full-time (40 hours a week)
  • You need to be enrolled as a student towards the attaining of a degree to be eligible for this internship and to secure university approval to start the assignment. If you are not a European national, you will also need to provide an approved Nuffic agreement.
  • Our office is located in Hoofddorp, next to the train station (25 minutes from Amsterdam by train).
  • We are currently working in a hybrid format, with a requirement to work 2 days a week from the office and the remaining days remote.
  • We offer you a monthly allowance of 650 euros and a fair share of responsibility.
  • Internship not suitable for writing a thesis
